What happens when you know the internet from A to Z? In
Steven Webster's case, you write and then star in one of the first-ever
internet how-to videos -- a joint venture with Concentric Corporation.
"Internet A to Z" sold thousands of copies via a direct response
TV campaign he co-wrote.
Worldscan itself has spawned a host of imitators -- companies that, for a fee, manage your personal or business reputation online. We were the first to make extensive use of "meta" tags to raise a web site's ranking; we developed some of the first search engines and news agglomerators; we were some of the first to see social media as the new norm for speaking directly to audiences (which is why much of what you see here is complemented on social mediums).
While live radio remotes are perhaps a dime a dozen (we have arranged
over 400 of them), one of the lesser known benefits of local
market radio promotions is all the free stuff radio stations
pass on to their clients. On one occasion, our staff received four
Rolling Stones tickets from a grateful station. We didn't keep them; we arranged a one-day
raffle at a Chicago men's clothing store. The event sparked a single
day sales record at the store, proving once again that the best
things in life are free!
Our CEO's innovative use of cash register tape as an in-store
promotional medium turned an otherwise humdrum test of a loyalty
program into an Atlanta area media event. A complicated customer
reward program required customers to redeem receipts to get free
stuff. Steven changed the words printed on store receipts from "Thank
you for shopping" to "Redeem this receipt for free prizes!"
Simple, yet wildly effective.
(Yes, the idea of including offers on store receipts began right here.)
Here in Florida, Worldscan -- and our sister arm, MW Consulting -- have tackled a host of issues particular to The Sunshine State.
