Accomplishments

This is a secret page. It is a list of great ideas we had, that we just could not get done.

Laser show from The Sears Tower, lighting up the Chicago sky.

Sears on Tour -- When the USSR collapsed, we proposed touring Sears Kemore, Craftsman and DieHard products in Russia -- and, of course, selling them. A bona fide triumph of capitalism event that never happened.

Floss in the base of a toothpaste pump. (You don't even see pump toothpaste these days.) We took this idea to the toothpaste-making company's ad agency, which never showed the idea to their client, thinking it not their job to help design a better product.

Tim Allen and Sears. We finally landed Bob Vila, but Tim in the early days was too raw for the ad agency to support. Sigh.

Seawall Stimulus Program. When the Feds were throwing a trillion dollars to kick-start the economy, it was clear to us that most of the money wouldn't be spent for years; would be spent on pet projects already in agency hoppers; and would be misspent. That's what happened, all right, but we nonetheless pushed to fund a program that would help rebuild and restore

We have one underway RIGHT NOW -- to reform the 1899 Rivers & Harbors Act to eliminate unnecessary and duplicative permits that frankly drive people crazy. Wish us luck. We'd love to take this one off the "secret" page.
